Beckett's family has a strong rugby legacy. Her brother, Charlie, retired at the end of the 2023/34 season after most recently playing for Doncaster Knights in the Championship. Her father, grandfather and uncle also played rugby, all representing Waterloo's first XV.
Sarah debuted for Firwood Waterloo in 2017 at just 18 and went on to win the Gill Burns Ladies County Championship. Sarah played in the Premiership the following year, and represented England in each game of the Six Nations that year to help them achieve their Grand Slam victory.
